How to Use Your Chevy EV

2025 Silverado EV

Getting Started & Driving
  1. With your key fob, open the door and get in. Keep the fob inside the vehicle.
  2. Hold your foot on the brake pedal. The system will start up silently—no need to press an ignition button.
  3. Shift to D (Drive) or R (Reverse) using the gear selector.
  4. To park, press P (Park) and exit—the truck will automatically power down when you walk away with the fob.
Pairing Bluetooth
  1. Tap the “Phone” or “Connect Device” icon on the main touchscreen.
  2. Select “Add Phone.” On your phone, open Bluetooth and search for “Silverado EV.”
  3. When the truck’s name appears, tap it and confirm the pairing code matches on both screens. Tap “Pair.”
  4. Allow access to contacts and messages if prompted. You’re set for hands-free calls and music.
Charging
  1. Open the charging port (it’s on the driver’s side front fender).
  2. Plug in the charging cable (Level 1, Level 2, or DC Fast Charger). Wait for the charging indicator on the dash or light ring to show charging.
  3. When done, unplug the cable and close the port door. The vehicle will notify you if charging is incomplete.
Using the Main Screen
  1. Most features are on the center touchscreen. Swipe or tap to find Navigation, Phone, Music, and Settings.
  2. For voice commands, press the steering wheel voice button and speak (e.g., “Navigate to 1200 Morse Rd”).
Regenerative Braking (“Regen on Demand” & One-Pedal Driving)
  • What is it? Regen braking uses the electric motor to slow you down and recharge the battery whenever you lift off the accelerator.
  • How to use: Tap the “One-Pedal Drive” button on the center display or use the paddle behind the steering wheel to activate “Regen on Demand.”
  • When to use: Great for city driving, stop-and-go traffic, or whenever you want to slow down smoothly without using the brake pedal much.
  • Let off the accelerator gently to slow and stop; the brake lights come on automatically. For more traditional driving, turn this feature off in the menu.
Tip: Using regen often extends your range and reduces brake wear!
Pro Tips & Tech Features
Remote App Features: Use the myChevrolet app to check battery, precondition climate (heat/cool), start or stop charging, and even find your Silverado EV on a map. You can also lock or unlock the truck—all from your phone.
Over-the-Air Updates: Your Silverado EV gets new features and improvements automatically. Don’t unplug while an update is in progress (you’ll see a message on your screen).
User Profiles: Set up personal profiles for drivers—your seat, mirror, and climate settings are remembered every time you start the truck.

2025 Equinox EV

Getting Started & Driving
  1. With your key fob, unlock and enter. Bring the fob inside the vehicle.
  2. Press the brake pedal. The car powers up and is ready to go—no ignition switch to turn.
  3. Tap D or R on the electronic shifter (button or knob, depending on trim).
  4. To park, press P and exit—the Equinox EV powers down automatically.
Pairing Bluetooth
  1. Tap the “Phone” or “Bluetooth” icon on the touchscreen.
  2. Choose “Add Device.” On your phone, open Bluetooth and look for “Equinox EV.”
  3. Tap the car’s name, confirm the pairing code, and tap “Pair.”
  4. Approve contact/message sharing if you want hands-free features.
Charging
  1. Open the charging port door (driver’s side rear quarter panel).
  2. Insert the charging connector (Level 1, Level 2, or DC Fast). Look for the charging status light by the port or on the dash.
  3. When charged, remove the connector and close the port door.
Using the Main Screen
  1. The home screen gives you access to Navigation, Phone, Audio, and Vehicle Settings.
  2. For Google features, sign in with your Google account for maps and more.
  3. Use the voice button on the steering wheel to give commands—“Call home” or “Play 97.1.”
Regenerative Braking (One-Pedal Driving)
  • What is it? Regen braking turns your motor into a generator to recharge the battery when you slow down.
